Doug Behm

Doug Behm has always had a passion for art, drawing and creating in a variety of mediums from a young age. His talent was recognized early by his parents, and he inherited his artistic ability from his great aunt, Dorothy Visju Anderson, a renowned portrait and landscape artist in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Doug attended the Art Academy of Cincinnati and the Central Academy of Commercial Art, graduating at the top of his class. Though his true passion was painting, Doug initially pursued a career in commercial art and advertising in Chicago, where he worked at top agencies and earned numerous awards for his bold, innovative visual storytelling that set him apart from others in the industry.

After an accomplished career in advertising, Doug decided to follow his lifelong dream of painting. Whether creating animal, landscape, portrait, or celebrity works, Doug aims to capture the true essence of each subject, inviting viewers to feel inspired and engaged. He strives to create aesthetically pleasing images with a sense of reality and mystery. Having traveled the world, Doug draws inspiration from the people, wildlife, and natural beauty he encountered, especially in the western landscape, which he and his family recently relocated to in order to be closer to the mountains he had always longed to live near.
