About Tricia

Tricia Bass is a passionate plein air landscape painter who finds inspiration in the great outdoors, particularly the Rocky Mountains. With a deep love for capturing the essence of nature, she brings the light, color, and emotion of the scene to life through oil painting. Her work often draws from the breathtaking beauty of Colorado, as well as California’s coast, Montana, and Utah, with even the simplest subject igniting her creative spark. Tricia believes that her responsibility as an artist is to convey the feelings she experiences in nature, offering viewers a genuine connection to the world around them.

Tricia holds a formal education in fine arts with a minor in art history from the University of Florida and has spent 25 years honing her skills as an oil painter. Along her artistic journey, she has explored photography, freelance illustrating, and pottery, and she enjoys sharing her passion by teaching workshops and private lessons. Tricia's style has been influenced by great masters like Sergei Bongart, Fedor Zakharov, and Edgar Payne, as well as contemporary artists Don Sahli and Scott Christensen. She describes her work as having Russian influences but continues to evolve her unique melting pot American style. Tricia lives in Lakewood, Colorado, and welcomes visitors to her studio with advance notice.
