About Arturo

Arturo García is a full-time artist based in Denver, Colorado, whose vibrant, contemporary style is driven by his passion for color and expression. His work combines elements of the fauvist and impressionist movements, with a distinctive approach that incorporates abstract elements within his figurative pieces. Using a palette knife as his primary tool, García applies bold, robust layers of oil paint to canvas, creating dramatic textures and dynamic contrasts. His fearless, yet deliberate strokes reflect both the intensity of his subjects and the natural shades of the world around him. The fusion of warm and cool colors in his work brings his subjects—often wildlife and animals—to life, offering a unique perspective that connects the viewer to the emotional depth of each piece.

With a philosophy that art is the language of the soul, García believes his work transcends words, communicating the unspoken truths between creation, nature, and spirit. He has exhibited his work at prestigious venues such as The Denver Art Museum, The Butterfly Pavilion, and CU Boulder, among others, and his collections have been displayed in public schools and libraries throughout the Denver Metro Area. In 2018, he was awarded a residency at Château de la Napoule in France, and his painting “Winter Dance” won "Best of Show" at the "Representing The West" Art Exhibit in 2020. As a member of the Art Students League of Denver and other Colorado arts organizations, García continues to push the boundaries of his craft, sharing his passion for wildlife and artistic mastery with the world.
